Part of the Joey Restaurant Group in Canada, the Local Public Eatery brand is a more casual, beer-centric local pub meets quality neighborhood restaurant. At the Sherwood Park location, the design team wanted to showcase the beer by placing it behind a glass (3-sides) walk-in cooler. Cooler inside dimensions: 261-1/2” wide x 73-1/2” deep. The design of the shelving required keg storage for 20 beer taps, cases, and individual bottle storage. The addition of fully surrounding the tapped kegs with glass required us to figure out the incorporation of beer control panels, but top shelves will not allow for our typical raised beverage panel to be used. Therefore, we coordinated with the beer installation team at BBS Systems to mount controls to panels configured inside the leg uprights as to work with the upper shelves and not inhibit the view into the cooler. Configuration was Single Deep keg shelving @ 31.5” AFF with Case Shelf @ 75.5” AFF and two tier safety flats to help restrict kegs from going beyond the rear limit of the shelving into the glass.
